Privacy policy

In short

The game keeps no accounts and no player database of its own. No sign-in, no game server, no analytics; progress stays on your device. Ads are served by Google AdMob and are non-personalised only.

§ 01

What stays on your device

Game progress (levels cleared, coins, unlocked heroes and weapons, settings, statistics, your own agent with its codename) and the state of your purchases are saved in the app's local storage. Nothing but the game itself ever reads this data.

It holds no name, e-mail address, phone number, location or any identifier that could single you out. The only text that comes from you is the agent codename, which you type yourself and can change at any time. Uninstalling the app deletes everything.

§ 02

Ads

Ads in the game are served by Google AdMob and are non-personalised only: the app reports child-directed treatment (tagForChildDirectedTreatment, tagForUnderAgeOfConsent) and caps ad content at G. This applies to every player, because the game never asks for an age.

The app uses the device Advertising ID; in child-directed mode Google uses it only to account for impressions and to spot fraud (Google's policy for partner sites). You can reset or switch it off in your Android settings. In the EEA and the United Kingdom a Google ads privacy form may appear on first launch, available afterwards in the game's Settings under “Ad privacy”; personalisation is permanently off in it.

There is no analytics. No package tracks how you play.

§ 03

In-app purchases

Purchases are optional: coin packs and paid add-ons (multiplayer, the BREACH chapter, the agent creator, bundles). Payments are handled entirely by Google Play Billing; the app never sees card or address details, only the confirmation of a purchase (Google Privacy Policy).

§ 04

Achievements and leaderboards (Google Play Games)

If your device has Google Play Games services, the game may record achievements and leaderboard scores there. Google manages that data under your account; the game keeps no player database of its own. You can turn it off in the Google Play Games settings.

§ 05

Multiplayer

Multiplayer is optional: it starts once you host a room yourself or join one. It works in two ways:

Over the internet (WebRTC). Devices are introduced to each other through the public PeerJS broker and Google/PeerJS STUN/TURN servers. Your IP address is visible to those servers and to the other players in the room, as with any direct connection. After that, game data travels straight between the devices.
Without internet (Google Nearby Connections). Devices connect over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Direct. The app asks for the nearby-devices permission, and on Android 12L and older the system also requires the location permission for a Bluetooth scan. The game neither reads nor sends your position.

What reaches the other devices in the room is the game state, the hero name in the lobby and, if you play your own agent, its looks and its codename. The codename is the only player-authored content that leaves the device; do not put anything into it that could identify you. There is no chat. There is no game server.

§ 06

Android backup

The app uses standard Android backup, so your save file may end up on your Google Drive. That is the operating system's doing, not the game's; you can turn it off in your phone's backup settings.

§ 07

Children's privacy

The game is made for children as well as older players, for supervised and unsupervised play alike. We do not ask for an age: every player is treated the way protecting a child requires.

No personal data whatsoever. No accounts, no sign-in, no game server and no analytics; all progress stays on the device.
Non-personalised ads for everyone (AdMob child-directed mode, G cap).
Purchases only through Google Play, with its safeguards: a password or fingerprint, and on a child's account approval through Family Link.
Multiplayer without chat. A room is joined with a code from whoever set it up. Please make sure a child does not put a real name into the codename.

If you are a parent or guardian and want to ask about anything, write to the address in “Contact”.

§ 08

Your rights

The game collects no personal data, so there is no record to access, correct or erase; uninstalling the app removes all game data. Requests about purchase and achievement data go to Google.

§ 09

Changes

If the game ever starts doing something it does not do today (keeping player accounts, for instance, or collecting statistics off the device), this page will change before such a version ships, together with the Data safety form in Google Play.
